Setting up your environment

Because the code is not in one of the standard system locations you will need to modify your environment in order to let the operating system know where to find executables, libraries, and configuration files.

If you use the bash shell, then you should include the following lines in your .bashrc file.

  export PYTHONPATH=$HETDEX_DIR/lib/python2.7/site-packages:$HETDEX_DIR/lib64/python2.7/site-packages:$PYTHONPATH

  export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$HETDEX_DIR/lib:$HETDEX_DIR/epics/lib/linux-x86_64:$HETDEX_DIR/plugins/designer:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

If you are using csh or a variant, you should include the following in your .cshrc file.
