HetProcedures/PreserveMoveDegradation
v1 v2 1 1 == Preserve Move Degradation Tests 2 2 3 The following tests should be performed either when the telescope is idle due to non-threatening weather, or during appointed engineering time.3 Given the problems with SAMS's "Set new reference (preserve move)" there's been some push to quantify the degradation after using it. The following are tests to do just that. They should ideally be performed in sequence, one immediately after the other, and all in all they take upwards of 1.5 hours. 4 4 5 SAMS's "Set new reference (preserve move)" method appears to significantly degrade the finished stack. These tests aim to investigate and quantify that degradation. 5 These tests should be performed either when the telescope is idle due to non-threatening weather, or during appointed engineering time. 6 7 Regarding "but not too old," SAMS reference files which are too old can introduce more cumbersome problems than the test requires, since the mirror team may have made multiple physical changes to the array. The most recent SAMS reference that puts the tRSE between 200 and 300 is ideal. 8 9 A template for recording relevant values (and reminders to wait/take snap images) is below the test overviews below. 6 10 7 11 [[BR]]
