  • THIS is a TEST PAGE for sco at the present time. Oh

Scripts and Methods where a "Quick Link" page to the wiki would be useful. IT CUURENTLY HAS NOT A SINGLE LINK.........

* When do I run autotwi.py for morning skyflats.

This is an extremely useful script for taking HPF, LRS2 and VIRUS skyflats. It has a clear and extensive usage mesaage, but

1) When I take morning skyflats, no matter how much I read the wiki, I can

not understand WHEN I start the script in relation to any ficucial time (like 12 deg twilight). So, I have been experimenting and trying to "sneak up on a time". Near as I can tell, a good time to start is when the raw gc2 flux level is around 2.7k adu.

2) For sunset skyflats, it is extremely important that the dome be open and

a) You are more that 4min before sunset time (if taking HPF flats)

b) The dome is open and ready for flats with the raw gc2 flux higher that (about?) 36K.

This is not in the wiki (that I could find).

* /home/mcs/sir/dev/astro/trunk/operations/netsound.sh

Give audible warnings when the hpf looses connection with timshet.

1) There are notes about doing "ssh -R 10002:localhost:10001 hpf@hpf" on zeus.

Maybe I have been lucky and just never had a timshet fail, but I have never heard anything from this. Maybe there is some key thing I am missing.

* When a modbus failure occurs, what do I do?

Here are my personal notes:

1) kill the "at" job with atq, atrm

2) kil remaining cal jobs (on zeus) with:

% ps -e |grep cal % kill -9

3) Restart pfip server, restart cals as "at" jobs.

Is there a better wiki resource? Just a Yes!/No will do.

* When a timshet failure occurs, what do I do?

I have no personal notes. I just try stuff.
