Set up Procedure

Check with RA about whether or not to have probes checked before you start a new trajectory.

Track Starts

Get finder web page and ask for setup position from RA. Check with the RA which instrument will be used.

Turn on tip-tilt with correct fiducial marker

Very rough focus on ACQ (~0.1mm)

Offset target to position on ACQ and start guiding on ACQ

Start guider camera for guide star.

Offset guide probe so that star is near center of the field

From here the setup is dependent on the instrument. Each instrument set up procedure is found below.

LRS2 Setup

Rough focus on GC (~0.05mm)

Setup and start guiding on GC

Stop guiding on ACQ and save an image when ACQ has settled down from handshake.

Run open metrology on the guider not guiding. Make sure this guider is set to filter g

Stop ACQ guiding, images, pipeline.

Start saving images on both guiders

Hit the setup complete button

Hand over to RA for focus curve

Close loop on WFS when RA says they are ready.

VIRUS

Rough focus on GC (~0.05mm)

Set both guide fiducials for center of bundle.

Stop guiding on ACAM

Choose which guider and start guiding as soon as a star in the field. Let it pull the star to the center of the fiber.

Open loop on the other guider.

Save an ACAM Image

Start saving images on both guiders. Whichever is just open loop should be on filter g

Hit the setup complete button.
