Telescope functional tests

Purpose: Try a few basic tests to see if the telescope is operating in a normal fashion.

Procedure:

• 8 position pointing test near center of track
• Focus curve with GC1, GC2, and ACAM (can be done separately)
• Check theta and phi position to get good image quality
• Check DMI value at best GC1 or GC2 focus just after stacking.

Finding the center of the good UV chip on ACAM

Purpose: We need to find the center of the good UV chip on the ACAM. For science targets that need decent UV response.

Procedure:

• Setup on a brightish star (14th) on LRS2B
• Take a spectrum with LRS2
• Look at instructions under Setup of LRS2 Observation for how to move around to in Telescope Offsets to get the correct position.
• Offset the guider and telescope in a controlled way and take a new exposure.
• Repeat until you have good centering on UV chip.
• Insert the ACAM and record the star position in X and Y.
• Document results on wiki and in e-mail.
