Interior Inspection

.) Inside the dome, walk around the pier, checking particularly that all items are clear of the structure (like the two access ladders on wheels - positioned straight onto the pier is no problem, however, sideways they can catch on the air bearings).

.) Make certain that the dome crane is all the way up and the carriage all the way to one side of the dome crane rail, and that there is nothing that can be caught up in dome rotation.

.) Inside the pier, make a circuit checking for glycol on the floor or any debris.

.) For cleaning any dirt off from the pier use the dust mop and sweep the upper surface. The pier mop is hanging to the right of the garage door inside the enclosure. It is often easier to clean the dome pier from inside the pier. This also gives you a chance to make sure the conditions inside the pier are fine (i.e. no puddles of water or glycol, no loose springs or any other debris, which may have accidentally fallen off the structure.)

.) Make sure the heat exhaust for the JLG is off. (If it is on, lightly touch you hand on the JLG exhaust pipe to see if it is still warm. If it is, give it about 30 minutes to cool down before turning the switch off. If it is already cool, go ahead and turn the switch off.)

.) Make sure the structure hand paddle is unplugged and coiled neatly below the connection location.

.) Make sure both AHU's in the dome are running. You can do this visually by checking the anemometer above the AHU's.

.) Make sure that the GTAG shutter is closed and lights are off. If the GTAG is still open, call the Visitor Center to have someone come up and close it.

.) Check that all lights are off in the stairwell, the loading bay and optics lab.
