Removing sensors from SAMS

— Throughout the night and especially during cold temperatures, SAMS will display a yellow warning light. Sometimes it stays yellow or it switches from green to yellow. When SCS isn’t making any more large moves, locate the box titled Errors Encountered in the top right of SAMS. Check the numbers it’s reporting and find the mirror and segment with the largest error. Under the Segment Data tab verify that the error detail still matches the current readings on that sensor. If it does, you need to remove it by switching to the Configuration tab and take it out of the stack by going from operate to standby and clicking that sensor to make it yellow. Verify you have the right sensor under the Commands Received box. When you’ve confirmed, click on Update Configuration and the yellow sensor should go from yellow to red indicating it has been removed. Now, you can switch SAMS back from Standby to Operate and see if the Sensor light is permanently green. If not, you will need to do this procedure again on another sensor. Be sure to note which sensors is removed (i.e. mirror# and segment #, like 91:3) and at what time. This information is very helpful to the mirror team when you submit a problem report about it.
