What to do if GTAG lights are on or door is open

Most days the GTAG should be closed and locked by 6pm. If it is after 6pm and the lights are still on or the roll-up door is still open, try the following:

1. Call Rachel Fuechsl (Visitor Center Manager of Public Programs) at home at x676

2. If no answer, call Shannon Rudine at home at x681.

3. If no answer, use control room radio to transmit on VC channel and ask for someone to come close the GTAG

4. If no response on VC radio, try calling the VC front desk or use the McDonald repeater channel

As a last resort, we can go into the GTAG and close the roll-up door ourselves:

• Get the "T" key from the collection of keys next to the mailboxes near the control room kitchen area.
• Go into the GTAG janitorial closet, the door to the left when you enter through the main glass doors. The switches are on the wall immediately to your right when you open the door. It requires a "T" key to open.
• Turn off the switches labeled in the photo below.
• Return the "T" key to the collection of keys near the mailboxes.
